"Christian Super is doing an outstanding job in building this capability and mitigating the material risks for its members," said Julian Poulter, Director of the Climate Institute.

Peter Murphy, CEO said, "That we were ranked second is great confirmation that our sustainable and ethical investment strategy is right on target. 2008 Sustainable Super Fund of the Year

Christian Super won the Sustainable Super Fund of the Year award at the 8th Australian Sustainability Awards presented by Ethical Investor on 8 December 2008.

Making the award, Dr Caroline Noller, Head of Corporate Responsibility at GPT Group, said:

‘(Christian Super) has embraced the principles of ethical investment more than any other in Australia, and in a way that establishes alignment with the values represented by its industry. It was the first industry super fund to decide that putting all its money into ethical investments was not at odds with its fiduciary duty to maximise returns.’
