The Fund is currently looking for a volunteer summer intern to gain some experience while on uni break. This role would be ideally suited to someone studying finance or business with interest in financial services. We hope this opportunity would give valuable experience for candidate’s future career.

Position Description – INTERNSHIP (VOLUNTEER)

Reports To: Chief Member Officer

Accountable To: Product Manager

Position Objective:

To receive valuable and relevant experience in various aspects of superannuation, including administration, product management, analysis, business development, and marketing.

To attain a strong understanding of the application of biblical ethics to working in financial services.

To aid in the operation of the Fund by assisting in various projects.

This role is a one-month volunteer position, with hours to be agreed between the successful applicant and the Fund.  Details of the duties to be undertaken will change according to the nature of the successful applicant’s desired experience, as well as the current operational requirements of the Fund.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Capacity to support and promote the Christian mission and values of the organisation
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to benefit from volunteer experience gained

Remuneration:

This position is a short term volunteer position and is unpaid.  Any legitimate expenses incurred in the performance of the duties of the position will be reimbursed by Christian Super.

Position Responsibilities:

The following list of responsibilities outlines the current focus of the role, however it is not exhaustive and may change from time to time to reflect changing industry conditions and requirements of the Fund.

Areas of Responsibility Key Activities
Product
  • Assist in ongoing assessment research of alternate product solutions
  • Assist with the implementation of approved product solutions
Marketing
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager in co-ordination of collateral
Administration
  • Assist with the monitoring of the Fund’s administration services
Business Analysis
  • Provide detailed analysis on ah-hoc projects
Professional Development
  • Actively participate in professional development activities to ensure own knowledge and skills are kept up to date
Involvement in life of the Fund
  • Attendance at staff meetings.
  • Involvement in Fund events.
Work Health and Safety
  • The Volunteer is required to undertake the responsibilities of the “Workers” under section 7.2 of the Fund’s Work Health and Safety Framework.
