All Ethical Investments
Fully Ethical
In 2001, Christian Super introduced Ethical Investment Options, so that members could choose to invest their super in a way that directly reflects Biblical principles.
In 2006, we took the step of closing the Fund’s general options, meaning that only Ethical options were available. We simultaneously introduced a new investment structure that allows us to put biblical principles in place across all the Fund’s investments.
What Does it Mean?
If you’d like to find out about the Fund’s Ethical Investment Policies in detail, you may like to visit our Ethical Investment Library, or look at some of our positive investments, but in a nutshell, ethical investing means avoiding companies involved in negative activities (eg weapons production, gambling), and investing more in companies that are involved in positive activities (eg clean energy, positive social projects).
What about Performance?
Christian Super engages professional investment managers and advisers who make decisions, in accordance with the Fund’s Ethical policies. We believe that, in the long term, companies that operate in a sustainable and ethical manner are more likely to be profitable, and hence will provide better long term performance.
