Financial Hardship
You may be able to access part or all of your preserved amount if you require urgent financial assistance.
Severe Financial Hardship
The Fund can pay you up to $10,000 of your benefit once a year if:
- You have been receiving certain Government income support for at least 26 weeks, and
- You are unable to meet reasonable and immediate family living expenses.
- You may also qualify if you are unemployed and aged over 55.
Such payments are approved by the Fund’s Trustee. Please contact our Helpdesk for more information and forms.
Release on Specified Grounds
You can qualify for special relief in order to meet the family expense of:
- Treatment of life threatening or acute or chronic medical conditions.
- Home or car modifications for severe disabilities.
- Palliative care or funeral expenses.
- Mortgage payments to prevent your lender selling your home.
