How do you believe your skills can be used as a director of Christian Super if you are elected?

– Strategic planning and management
– Compliance controls

What experience do you bring to the role of Trustee Director?

I have over 30 years of skills and experience in financial management obtained through Christian schools environment as well as the commercial investment and accounting sectors.  These skills would be of great value to Christian Super.  I have considerable exposure to Superannuation Operations and Unit Pricing, as well as dealing with governance bodies such as ASIC, and external auditors.  Being one of the Executive members of Toongabbie Christian School and a sitting non-voting member of the School Board for over 9 years, I have substantial skills and experience in strategic planning, compliance and general business operations management and control.

Which church do you attend and how are you involved?

I attend Toongabbie Baptist Church.  I am the Business Manager of Toongabbie Christian School which is one of the ministries of Toongabbie Baptist Church.

How does Christian Super’s vision of seeing people living life with financial health and understanding resonate with you?

Christian Super’s vision of seeing people living life with financial health and understanding resonates with me strongly.  I am a strong believer, advocate and practitioner in personal financial responsibility and independence, and the ability to be generous.

The Bible teaches us we are stewards of the financial resources entrusted by God.  We are required to be faithful, which includes faithfully investing in a biblical manner.   I am passionate to help educating people to use their financial resources through biblically-sound investment strategies and controls.

What is your view on biblical investing and why it is important for Christian Super and its members?

As Christians, our investments should reflect biblical values such as the need to care for God’s creation.   We ought to invest in companies which hold strong biblical and ethical values and can do good to the world, eg.  renewable energy, biomedical research, etc.  Doing so can also avoid the risk of funding companies which are involved in industries like tobacco and gambling or exploit working conditions of workers.

Being a Christian organisation, biblical investing is of paramount importance and non negotiable.    It is encouraging to know that the Ethical Investment strategy adopted by Christian Super seamlessly aligns with biblical values.
