Contributions

Types of Contributions

There are different types of contributions that you can make towards your super to help it grow. These include:

Employer Contributions

Employer contributions are those made by your employer on your behalf. Your employer is generally required to contribute to yourPerme employers make additional contributions, and if so, they will notify you of this.

Voluntary Contributions

Voluntary contributions are those that you make of your own accord, either from your after-tax income, or from your before-tax income (via salary sacrifice).

If you wish to make a contribution from your regular pay (salary sacrifice), please talk to your employer. If you would prefer to make an after-tax voluntary contribution, please fill in the Member Contribution Form and send it to us with a cheque to the amount stipulated.

Self-employed Contributions

Self-employed contributions are those for which you intend to claim a tax deduction as a self-employed person.. To make your contributions to Christian Super, please complete the Member Contribution Form.

Government Co-contribution

The government co-contribution initiative is available to assist low to middle income earners, including those self-employed, by matching any personal super contribution you make with a co-contribution of up to $1.00 for every $1.00.

Making Contributions as an employer

Employers can contribute to Christian Super for any of their employees who are members of Christian Super without needing to sign up as a Registered Employer. Whether you are a registered employer or not, please go to the Employer Centre for payment options.

Making Contributions as a member

As a member you can make additional contributions to Christian Super at any time. There are a number of ways you may make contributions:

  • By Mail – Simply fill in a Member Contribution Form and post it to us, along with a cheque payable to Christian Super.
  • Electronic Funds Transfer – BPay is now available for most member contributions. Please call our Helpdesk if you would like to use this facility, so we can provide you with the necessary codes for your account.
  • Salary Sacrifice – If you wish to make salary sacrifice contributions, speak to your employer’s payroll department.
