Meet Our New Board Directors

Results of our recent member election

Christian Super is governed by a board of directors, comprised of nine individuals who provide a diverse representation of the Christian community. The board is comprised of one independent director, four directors appointed by a council of denominations and peak bodies (collectively known as our Principal Sponsor), and four directors who are nominated and elected by Christian Super members.

An election to fill these four member-nominated roles was conducted across late 2019 and early 2020, with voting closing on 7 February 2020.  The results of the election are that:

  • Two existing directors, Graeme Janes and Lily Ng, were re-elected.
  • Two new directors, Michael Anderson and Craig Kellock, were elected.

You can learn more about all of the Christian Super directors here. We asked Michael and Craig a few additional questions to help you get to know them.

Meet Michael Anderson

Tell us about the work you do and why you love it.

I am the Chair of Wesley Mission and Uniting Mission and Education (NSW/ACT). Until recently, I was Chair of Uniting Financial Services (a $1.5 billion financial services provider) and Ecclesia Housing (community housing). I also have other roles around strategy, investments, ethics and leadership. Prior to this, I had a range of senior ethical investment and general management roles at AMP Capital Investors.

What is your passion in life and work?

I enjoy a range of mentoring and coaching elements of my roles, where I look to help leaders make a bigger impact.

What does it mean to you to sit on the board of Christian Super?

I appreciate helping people align their values with money as I find too many people have not connected the two. Christian Super is a great place to express this.

What do you look forward to in your retirement?

In one sense I hope not to “retire” but rather continue to make a difference in things that matter for as long as possible – whether paid or not. I also look forward to spending time with my growing family.

Meet Craig Kellock

Tell us about the work you do and why you love it.

I am a corporate advisor with a focus on capital management, financial and business strategy and structuring.  I am an outcomes-focused individual, and as such, I gain immense satisfaction in working with corporate leadership to find alternate solutions and strategies for their businesses which were previously not evident, or the pathway to achieve not clear.

What is your passion in life and work?

Ultimately positioning businesses and their owners to take advantage of new opportunities for growth provides my greatest reward at a personal level. My passion in life is seeing the advancement of the Kingdom of our Lord on this earth. When these two intersect, it’s awesome!

What does it mean to you to sit on the board of Christian Super?

It is an immense privilege to serve the fund members and staff of Christian Super; resourcing them each individually and collectively to advance the Kingdom of God.

What do you look forward to in your retirement?

It would likely surprise many members that I actually told my wife of 34 years prior to our marriage that I planned never to retire. Nothing has changed in that respect. I am extremely blessed to be able to mix ministry and vocation; I trust my Heavenly Father that this will continue for many more years to come.

Farewell to our outgoing Board Directors

The appointment of Michael and Craig coincided with us saying farewell to two directors, Paul Campey and Ross Langford, who both reached the end of their tenure as directors on the Board, having each served on the Board for the maximum of four terms (twelve years).

Both have made huge contributions to the governance of the Fund, with Paul Campey the inaugural Chair of the Community Engagement Committee focusing on member servicing, insurance and communications, and Ross Langford the inaugural Chair of the Risk Committee having previously also Chaired the Audit & Compliance Committee.  We thank both Paul and Ross for all that they have done for Christian Super, having always brought the best of their skills, time and passions to their roles as directors, and wish them all the best as they continue to serve the Christian community in various ways.
