We recently sent our members an email about our Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Member Access which will commence in early September 2020. Here are our answers to some frequently asked questions.
Why are we using Multi-factor authentication?
We are responding to both feedback from members who have expressed a concern for security measures to protect their significant balances in superannuation and aligning ourselves with the security measures being implemented across the broader superannuation and financial services industry.
This is an important step to help protect superannuation accounts against fraudulent activity.
What if I don’t have a mobile number?
You can use the Google authenticator option. This is an app that does not require a mobile number.
What if I have an international mobile number?
International mobile numbers are not compatible with SMS One Time Passcode (OTP). However, you can use Google Authenticator from anywhere in the world.
How do I use Google authenticator (GA)?
When MFA is live and you attempt to login, you will be prompted to choose to register for ‘SMS One time passcode’ or ‘Google authenticator’. When you select the GA option, the next screens will provide prompts to step you through this process.
Can I use Google authenticator if I don’t have a smart device?
No. Google authenticator will require a camera on your smart device to scan a QR code.
